BAKEKANG

Bondying Movie Specials, 1976-1978

BAKEKANG is one of the most memorable novels in Bondying Movie Specials, and perhaps in the entire komiks-magazine industry. Written by Carlo J. Caparas and illustrated by Mar T. Santana, it is a moving story of the life of a particularly homely and extremely destituted girl, Bakekang (the name of the lead character). Bakekang came out with its first chapter at a time when Bondying Movie Specials’ circulation was steadily going down. Before it ended, it was able to place Bondying Movie Specials among the leaders in circulation at that time – from a measly 40,000 copies when it started serialization to well over 120,000! Bakekang was later made into a motion picture with Nora Aunor, then considered one of the hottest stars in local showbusiness, playing the title role. [1]

TINY TONY is an adventure komiks serial about the smallest superhero in the world. He was shrunk to only a few inches high, but retained his full sized strength inspite of his diminutive stature.

Synopsis —
Tony was singlehandedly raised by his Nanay Eden. Because of his superior intelligence, Tony got his PhD at a young age and was taken in by scientist Dr. Morgan Peralta as a laboratory assistant. While Tony becomes friends with Dr. Morgan’s daughter Michelle, he is despised by the doctor’s son Joaquin. After a laboratory accident kills Dr. Morgan, Tony finds himself shrunk to a mere six inches. While he struggles to get back to normal, Tony must face enemies like the Indian Warrior Red Cloud and the greedy Joaquin. [1]
